Is there parking available?

Yes, Grace & Sparrow is located on N New Street next to the Wise Bean Coffee Shop and adjacent to Fulton Bank. There is a small rear parking lot, Raspberry St. Additionally, there is metered on-street parking on both sides of the street, just not directly in front of the salon. Near by you can also find 61 E Broad St Parking Lot. 

Do you specialize in curly haircuts?

Yes, I love my curly clients. Please come to your appointment with your hair in its natural state, preferably with 2-3-day curls. After our consultation, I shape and cut curl by curl to design your hair shape based on your unique curl pattern, density, and texture. After cleansing and hair treatment, I will refine and cross-check your haircut before styling. 

Who should complete a new client consultation form? Why?

I highly encourage all new clients to complete a consultation form prior to your service. When I review your form and begin to customize your service based on your needs. This helps me to prepare and get to know you. I know that it is also is challenging to find a new stylist and I want to ensure we are a good fit. This helps me to keep our in person consultation to no more than 15 minutes.  

Are children allowed?

Yes, we are kid friendly space. I know that firsthand as a parent; child care can prevent you from getting your hair done. As parents, we need community and we also want to look good too. If you cannot find a sitter and your child is not getting a service, you may bring your child with you. However, to keep your child safe and supervised, we may need to adjust your service due to timing and processing. I believe children are not a distraction but our greatest work. Do you accept walk-ins?

No, I do not accept walk-ins. Please make your appointment online or join the waitlist. Click book now to schedule your appointment. 

Are silk presses healthy for my hair? 

Yes, silk presses typically last 2-4 weeks with proper home care and maintenance. Throughout the silk press, I prepare the hair with the best and highest quality ingredients and products to help protect it during heat styling. With my technique, your hair will be pampered and treated with care, including tool temperature adjustment.  I highly recommend that tightly curled/coil clients cleanse weekly or bi-weekly. Silk presses are safe for children, I recommend over 5 years old. 

What is your recommended service maintenance schedule?

Below, you will find my rule of thumb per chemical/texture service. However, haircuts, scalp care, and styling services are recommended individually based on your needs, hair goals, preference and budget.

Color Retouch:  4-6 weeks

Highlights:  6-8 weeks 

Toner/Glaze:  4-6 weeks 

Smoothing Treatment: 8-12 weeks 

Curl Texture Treatment: 6-12 weeks 

Scalp Treatments:  once a month or quarterly 

What type of products do you use?

I use Schwarzkopf Professional color and products, as well as Alterna Haircare, It's a 10, and k18.
